    Avoid Hostway at all costs

Well, after many days of trying to get a clients site fixed, I have come to terms with the fact that there is no one competent enough to fix the space issue at his host company. It has been a week now and the problem has not been fixed. They tell me that they can’t reproduce the issue since they try to upload 1k html files and it goes through. This only works for them because I had to delete files and make room so I could update his site. If they were to try and upload say a 10 meg file, they would then see that it would not work. Their customer services is abysmal and their tech people must have gotten their diploma from a crack jack box. I’m beginning to hate them as much as my last host company iPower. Both of which I would NEVER do business with myself personally, but have no choice when my clients use them as their host company. Oh how I hate these types of people who work at these companies. They make me want to pull my hair out and reach through the screen to strangle them at the other end. Being someone who has worked in IT for a long time and have been doing web design since the 90′s, I have a pretty good understanding of how all this works. In fact I have a damn good understanding of how this works, and how these companies have second rate third world countries doing their customer service, where they just respond with pre-written generic scripts on what to say.

If you are in the market for a new host, stay clear of iPower and Hostway at all costs!

    1. Why don’t you get your own dedicated server if you know how to fix the issues yourself?

The whole point of a shared hosting environment is outsourcing the IT overhead. If you’re not getting the value you desire, get your own server.

    2. @anonymous – It’s not my site or hosting company that I have a problem with. I am doing the web design for a customer and uploading the files to his site for him, and that is where the problem lies. His host company and their server are the issue at hand.
