With all the attacks on the web sites of so called hackers by groups like the Anti-Sec movement and the latest ZF0 breakins, I thought it was fitting to have a banner people can place on their page in protest to their so called movement. Am I mocking the true Anti-sec ideals? No. But I am mocking the asshats who claim these attacks to be in the name of real hacking.
Maybe this will only infuriate them more and make me a target, but I never claimed to be nor said I was a hacker. I just find some irony in all their hacks, in that they stand against certain things, yet they go and do exactly that which they seem to protest against. They only end up bringing less respect to the community, and in part, maybe that is their intention. Maybe it isn’t really an anti-sec movement, but people who are using that as a shield so that they can be popular among hackers while trying to look altruistic in the process.
In my opinion, real hacking has nothing to do with the deleting a web sites files. Being able to exploit a flaw, or find new ones on your own, exploring and experimenting in the spirit of knowledge and truth, that to me is real hacking, and applies to all aspects of life, not just computers. Tesla was a hacker, Einstein, Thomas Edison, Robert Metcalfe, Ben Franklin, and so on. Even if you never achieve the level of fame as some people, thats not why you do it. But I think its silly when you try to point the finger at others who you think are not hackers for whatever your definition is, and then try to somehow justify it by breaking into their sites and deleting their files, only to publish a “full disclosure” of the attack in an effort to show how weak someone is. If anything, it shows you just have no desire to hack, but instead to attack in a criminal mischief way. If these people really wanted a cause, go after things like hate crime sites or human right violators, true crimes. Have a cause, but find one that makes sense instead of just trying to make a name for yourself, because you are only bringing negative attention to your groups, instead of gaining respect that you would otherwise be getting for your true skills.

With the recent Hak5 break in, someone posted in the latest zf0 zine (who claims -to be/not be/doesn’t know who they are- prdelka) all the passwords for its forum users. Mine was there as well. Go and see for yourself. They went so far as to login to some of the users on the forums email and websites, since they failed to use strong passwords for all their sites, they instead used the same password for all of them leaving themselves open to attack. While that in itself is bad practice, the fact that they did this leaves me to believe they will be targeting others from that list, if they haven’t already.
How far will they go? And will this piss off the real Anti-sec movement and people who frown upon this tactic, the people who want to see the scene back to where it was when hacking started and information was shared only among hackers, and not published for fame and money in the “security” realm and media. Will there be an all out war among the hacking community? or has it already started?
