Ok, so this isn’t so much a poll as it is a free for all. I am not limiting this to like 5 phones to choose from, but all phones. What is your favorite cell phone and why? I am in the market for a new phone, but I only have a few requirements and don’t need all the extra jazz that comes with these things.
I currently have an old faithful Nokia that is heavy, monochrome screened and a battery that lasts a week at a time on one charge, so you can see where I am going with this.
Do’s:
Must do email/web browsing. Must be able to tether to my laptop so that I can use it while working from the road. Must be sturdy. Must have full qwerty keyboard! GPS woudl be nice, but is not a requirement. 3G would also be nice, but again, not a true requirement. Ergonomics/ease of use and comfortable to talk with. I hate ear pieces, so it has to be comfortable to hold as well as talk with.
Don’ts:
Do not need bluetooth, its a security risk to begin with, and I have no intention of shuttleing files to and from devices nor using an ear piece. No flimsy, thin, break if I set on it cell phones. I don’t need a camera, I own a real camera for taking pictures(Nikon D60), I don’t need an MP3 player on my phone or storage for music, but file storage for apps like word/excel/pdf reading and editing is a plus. Don’t need to be able to watch video on it either.
Reply to this post with your thoughts, ideas, opinions and reviews. Please list pros and cons of your current phone and why you still use it.
edit: Ok, these are good, but I need more convincing reasons on why I would swtich to any of these. Please list what you like and dislike about your phone. Be honest, because if there is something you don’t like, it may be a deal breaker for me. I don’t want to shell out the money for something, only to find out there are some issues with the phone.

I am really liking the Blakberry. Had an iPhone for all of a week before I got rid of it. Biggest pain in the ass to try to get rid of because you get sucked into these contracts, and the place I bought it fought me tooth and nail to take it back. Screen got scratched and was pretty flimsy, so I ended up goign with the blackberry. Not as pretty as an iPhone, but much sturdier and easier to type with. I was going to go with the storm, but decided against the touch screen. Didn’t want to go through what I did with the iPhone, so went with the BlackBerry Tour. It also interfaces with out corporate network and the iPhone for some reason was not on our “approved” list of devices. I guess becase of the apps they use on the network to login and receive documents over their network, maybe they know something I don’t about the iPhone.

Palm Pre has everything you want with a slide out keyboard, but also has large screen on top that can get scratched easily if you are afraid of that. Next best thing to an iPhone, and in my opinion, rivals the iPhone and Blackberry.
