Vivek Ramachandran, the man who has compiled http://www.securitytube.net/, is proposing an online hacker convention, where anyone can participate and give talks on anything security related. A no holds barred approach to reaching the international community at large, think Black Hat or ShmooCon, but on a global scale with people from all over the world contributing to this social gathering in one ultimately reachable location that everyone can attend. It is a great concept, but the test will be whether or not people are willing to come forward and participate, contribute, and promote the idea.
