TD balances up to date as bank digs out from troubled computer conversion
In short, TD Bank had some issues with their computer system not being able to handle the volume of work taken on from the merger, and it took them a week to fix the situation. Not something you want to see coming from a large bank in todays volatile economy. As a result of this screw up, some customers have taken out their anger on a bank employee. This employee was on lunch break, and while accessing an ATM at a store, was recognized by his company T-shirt which contained the TD logo. Customers then began to harass and poke at the TD employee out of anger for overcharge fees and deposits not being available to pay bills, not long before an officer on the scene happened to see what was happening and break up the situation.
It is one thing to be angry at the bank itself, it is quite another to treat an employee of said bank with such disrespect when they have nothing to do with the problem or processing of their account.
As an employee of the bank myself, we are going through the same problems as our customers are. Most of them banks employees do all their banking there as well, so we feel your pain. I’m just glad I work at night and don’t run into these mobs while on lunch break. I probably would not have held back and instead would have started hitting any person who decided to take a poke at me, so next time you see one of those TD people while out somewhere, beware, we are just as angry, and we don’t take kindly to harassment!
